If you are wondering if your city makes the cut, Here is the list of the top fiber internet in the US.

A hot commodity to have is the fiber-optic internet and the sufficiently fast internet speeds. And top providers such as Verizon Fios, AT&T, and CenturyLink have been quick to broaden their fiber-optic network offers to more subscribers and more cities in response to the demand.

But which town is really winning the fiber race? What city has the highest ratio of fiber sales to internet subscribers?

To analyze 29,399 areas, our team combined FCC and U.S. census data. We used the number of broadband providers available to find our rankings for the top fiber cities in the nation, the percent of which provide fiber internet plans, and the city's total population.

What does fiber optic internet?

One of the newest types of internet connections is fiber, or fiber-optic internet service, which uses glass cables or plastic fibers technologies to transmit data. It is basically today's quicker, faster, stronger internet connection on the planet and is rising in success year after year.

Internet fiber speeds will top out at a whopping 1,000 Mbps, or 1 Gig, and often decline in terms of pricing on the higher end of the scale. As more and more managers and teachers set up shop at home, however, service reliability is more than worth it to everyone, even if the speeds are not the highest possible.

Here are the top 10 fiber cities

In the South, seven of the top 10 fiber cities are based. This may come to some as a major surprise. But some may note that providers like Google Fiber and Verizon Fios have built many of the original fiber networks. They both launched some of their very first fiber networks in cities in Texas.

Fiber companies have decided to pursue their networks in Southern towns. Almost 41% of the U.S. is now available for a form of fiber internet connection.
